This extraordinary cup has applied beaded borders on the rim and base and a tapered, bellied body with floral ans scroll Repousse decorations surrounding the inscription: Georgiana Reed Wendel from George Chambers Reed New York, Jan 1st, 1851.
This wonderful cup, with its New Year′s Day 1851 inscription, is 4" tall, 3 1/4" in diameter, 4 1/2" across the double C shaped handle and weighs 126 grams or 4.1 ozs. Troy.
Inscribed as described above, the soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
The excellent original condition and clear detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
